Unley and Goodwood
Unley and Goodwood are some of Adelaide’s oldest suburbs: stone villas and bungalows on narrow side streets off King William Road, Unley Road and Goodwood Road, many with no driveway and parking shared along the kerb. The truck may need to stop a little way from the gate, so the carry is what to plan. Inside, high ceilings help, but narrow halls and doorways in older homes can make big wardrobes and lounges tricky. Measure the widest pieces and the narrowest doorway, and tell us both.
Mitcham
Mitcham sits where the plains meet the foothills, with older homes around the village and larger blocks as the streets climb. Sloping blocks and steps up to the front door are common, and some homes sit well above or below the street. Tell us about the steps and the slope when you call.
Blackwood
Blackwood is in the hills face, reached up winding roads such as Shepherds Hill Road. Streets curve and climb, blocks can be steep, and some homes have long or narrow driveways that a truck cannot use. These are the moves where the truck size and the carry need the most thought, and where a smaller truck closer to the door can beat a larger one parked on the road. Marion
Marion, around the big shopping centre and the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, has wide suburban streets, family homes with driveways and many groups of units. Access is usually easier than in the older suburbs, though shared driveways in unit groups need a word with the neighbours before moving day. Marion is also where many southern moves cross paths with the plains and the foothills: a family leaving a Blackwood home for a unit near Marion, or the other way, has two very different ends to plan, so tell us about both.

- Steps and slopes. Homes above or below the street, and how many steps there are to the front door.
- Hills roads. For Blackwood and the higher parts of Mitcham, whether the street is tight or the driveway is steep.
- The narrowest doorway. Older homes decide what fits through; measure before moving day.
