Packers and movers in Adelaide come in two kinds: companies that pack and leave the moving to someone else, and companies that do both. Moveall does both. The house is packed by Moveall’s Wrap & Pack service and moved by Moveall’s own trucks, so the inventory, the labels and the plan for the new house all stay in one set of hands from the first box to the last.

House Removalists Adelaide is a service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, a South Australian owned and operated removalist. This page explains how a full-service move runs, what you do and what we do, and when it is worth it.
Why packers and movers work better as one company
Most problems in a full-service move happen at the hand-over: boxes packed without the room written on them, fragile things packed in a way the loading crew did not expect, or a packing team that leaves before the truck arrives and a list that leaves with them. When the same company packs and moves, there is no hand-over. The people who load the truck know how it was packed, and the labels were written for the unload.
- One inventory. The list the quote is built on is the list the packing follows and the list the truck is loaded from.
- One labelling plan. Every box carries its room, so the unload goes straight to the right rooms.
- One standard of care. Packing and loading both follow Moveall’s strict handling and packaging procedures.
- One person to call. Moveall’s customer care team handles the whole job, not half of it.
What you do, and what we do
A full-service move does not mean you do nothing, but it does mean the heavy, slow work is ours. The table shows a typical split. You can move the line: plenty of people pack their own clothes and leave the kitchen and the fragile things to us.
| Job | You | Moveall |
|---|---|---|
| Deciding what goes | Sort, sell or give away what is not coming | Builds the inventory and the quote from what is left |
| Boxes and materials | Nothing to buy | Supplies every box and packing material with Wrap & Pack |
| Packing | Valuables, documents, medicines and the first-night box | Packs all approved household items, room by room |
| Furniture | Empties drawers if you are packing them yourself | Wraps it in moving blankets and loads it |
| Moving day | Keys, access and decisions at both homes | Loads, moves and unloads to the rooms on the labels |
How a full-service move runs
- The quote. Our customer care team asks about the bedrooms and living areas, the access at both homes, heavy or bulky items, and which rooms you want packed. The quote is built on that list.
- Before packing day. You set aside what is not going and what you are carrying yourself. Everything else stays where it is: there is nothing to box up in advance.
- Packing. Moveall’s Wrap & Pack service packs the house with purpose-made boxes and wrapping for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork. Moveall says you can head out for the day and come back to a house that is ready for the truck.
- Loading. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets and the truck is loaded room by room, in the order the new house will be unloaded.
- Unloading. Boxes go to the rooms written on them, and furniture goes where you point. Ask about unpacking when you book, and tell us which rooms you would want unpacked.

When packers and movers are worth it
Packing is the longest part of most house moves. A three-bedroom house can take a family weeks of evenings to box up, and it is the part most likely to go wrong: boxes too heavy to lift, plates packed flat, labels that say only ‘misc’. Full service is worth it when time, health or distance get in the way.
- A short gap between dates. Settlement or a lease end that leaves no time for weeks of evenings.
- Work and children. Two jobs and a school run leave little room for packing a whole house.
- A move for a parent. Adult children organising a move for a parent from a distance, or a parent who should not be lifting boxes. See downsizing moves.
- A house full of fragile things. Glassware, artwork, a collection: purpose-made boxes and wrapping make the difference.
- A house that has to look its best. If the house is open for inspection while you pack, packing it in one go keeps it presentable.
Partial packing: the kitchen and the fragile things
Full service does not have to mean every room. A sensible middle ground is to have the kitchen and the fragile things packed for you, and leave the rest to the household. Kitchens are slow because almost everything in them is small, breakable or both, and fragile items need materials most people do not have at home. The details of what Wrap & Pack packs, and how, are on packing and moving services in Adelaide.
Getting the house ready for the packers
A full-service move goes fastest when the packers can start on the first room without stopping to ask questions. A little preparation in the week before makes that possible.
- Separate what is not coming. Put anything being sold, given away or left behind in one room or one corner, clearly marked.
- Set aside what travels with you. Documents, keys, jewellery, medicines and the first-night box go in your car, so put them somewhere the packers will not reach.
- Clear the garage of hazards. Fuel, gas bottles, paint and chemicals need to be used up, given away or taken to a disposal point.
- Decide the rooms at the new house. If a bedroom is becoming a study, tell us, so the boxes are labelled for the room they are going to.
- Check the new house is ready. Keys, access and power at the new address, so the unload can start as soon as the truck arrives.
What to keep with you
Even with the house packed for you, a few things should never go on the truck: documents, passports, keys, jewellery, cash, medicines, chargers and anything irreplaceable. Fuel, gas bottles, paint and chemicals should not go on a removal truck at all. Put the first group in your car with a first-night box of bedding, towels, toiletries and the kettle. Our article on what to keep off the truck has the full list.
Packers and movers for every kind of home
Full-service moves suit apartments as much as houses: packing an apartment the day before means the lift booking is spent moving, not packing. Our apartment removalists in Adelaide page covers lifts and loading docks. For families, residential removalists in Adelaide covers moving with children and pets, and house removalists in Adelaide the complete move from the quote to the first night.
What shapes the quote
A packed and moved quote depends on the inventory, how many rooms are packed, the access at both homes, the distance between them and any heavy items such as a piano or pool table, which Moveall’s Supercharge option handles with extra team members and specialty equipment. A fixed-price quote relies on the inventory list from the quote, so items added on the day are charged by the hour. Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover; ask us about transit insurance for your belongings when you book.
Moveall moves full-service households across the 28 suburbs on its list, from Mawson Lakes to Mount Barker. See suburbs we move for the list by region.

Questions people ask
Do removalists pack for you?
Moveall does, with its Wrap & Pack service. It packs all approved household items and supplies the boxes and packing materials, so the house is ready for the truck when the move starts.
Do I need to buy boxes if I book packing?
No. Wrap & Pack supplies all the different boxes and packing materials the move needs, including purpose-made boxes and wrapping for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork.
Can you pack only some rooms?
Yes. Many households pack their own clothes and leave the kitchen and the fragile things to us. Tell us which rooms when you ask for a quote, so the quote and the packing plan match.
Do I need to be home while the house is packed?
You do not need to stand over it. Moveall says you can head out for the day and come back to a house that is ready for the truck. Someone should be there at the start to show what is going and what is staying.
Can you unpack at the new house too?
Ask when you book. Tell us which rooms you would want unpacked, such as the kitchen, and our customer care team will tell you what can be arranged and include it in your quote.
