These are the questions people ask us most before a house move in Adelaide, along with the ones Google shows when people search for removalists here. Each answer is short and says where to read more. House Removalists Adelaide is a service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, a South Australian owned and operated removalist, and the answers describe how Moveall works.
Choosing and booking a removalist
The first questions are about who to trust and when to book. A good removalist builds the quote on what is actually moving, explains its terms and is clear about insurance. The complete move with Moveall is set out on house removalists in Adelaide.
Packing
Packing questions are mostly about boxes, drawers and what should never go on the truck. Moveall’s Wrap & Pack service is described on packing and moving services in Adelaide, and packing and moving as one job on packers and movers in Adelaide.
Apartments, families and moving day
Buildings with lifts have their own rules, covered on apartment removalists in Adelaide. Moving with children and pets is on residential removalists in Adelaide, and the jobs after the move on the moving house checklist.

Questions people ask
What are red flags with moving companies?
A quote given without asking what is moving or what the access is like; no written terms; vague answers about insurance; a large payment demanded long before the move; and no business name or address you can check. A removalist should ask about the bedrooms, living areas, access at both homes and heavy items before it quotes, and explain what happens if the inventory changes.
How far in advance should I book a house move?
Book as soon as your settlement or lease date is fixed. That leaves time to plan packing and access, and to book lifts or loading docks if a building is involved. Moveall’s online booking takes under two minutes once you know the date.
How much does a removalist cost in Adelaide?
It depends on the move, which is why this site publishes no prices. The quote is shaped by how much is moving, the access at both homes, the distance, any heavy items that need extra crew, and how much packing you want done. Send us your details for a quote built on your own inventory.
Do I need to empty dressers and wardrobes for the removalists?
Yes. Moveall’s terms ask that furniture is emptied of loose items and that loose items are packed in cartons. Full drawers make furniture heavy, strain the joints and can damage what is inside.
Do removals companies provide boxes?
Moveall does with its Wrap & Pack service, which supplies all the boxes and packing materials the move needs, including purpose-made boxes and wrapping for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork.
What should I not pack when moving?
Fuel, gas bottles, paint, chemicals and anything flammable should not go on a removal truck. Keep documents, passports, keys, jewellery, cash, medicines and anything irreplaceable with you. See what to keep off the truck.
What is the most forgotten thing when moving?
The first night. Bedding, chargers, the kettle, medicines and toilet paper end up deep in the truck. Pack a first-night box and carry it in your car; our article on the first-night box lists what goes in.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover. Ask us about transit insurance for your belongings when you book, so you know what is covered before moving day.
Do I need to book the lift in my apartment building?
Usually. Ask the building or strata manager how lifts are booked for a move, whether padding is needed and what hours moves are allowed, then send us the booking window.
What happens on moving day, step by step?
The crew arrives and walks through the house with you, furniture is wrapped in moving blankets, and the truck is loaded room by room. At the new house the boxes go to the rooms on their labels and furniture goes where you point. You check both houses before the crew leaves.
Can you unpack for us at the new house?
Ask when you book. Tell us which rooms you would want unpacked, such as the kitchen, and our customer care team will tell you what can be arranged and include it in the quote.
Do I need to be home on moving day?
Someone who can make decisions should be at the old house when the crew starts and at the new house when it unloads. Keep children, pets and other trades clear of the path between the truck and the home.
Can I pay in instalments?
Moveall accepts Afterpay, as well as the major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For local moves, a deposit confirms the booking and the balance is paid a day or two after the move.
What do I need to update after moving house in SA?
Service SA says you must update your address within 14 days of the change; one update covers your licence and registrations. Update your enrolment with the AEC once you have lived at the new address for a month.
Do you move pianos and pool tables?
Yes, as part of a house move. Moveall’s Supercharge option adds extra team members and specialty equipment for heavy and bulky items such as a piano or pool table.
Which suburbs do you move houses in?
The 28 Adelaide suburbs on our list, from Prospect, Mawson Lakes and Golden Grove in the north to Unley, Blackwood and Marion in the south, Norwood and Burnside in the east, Glenelg to Port Adelaide in the west, Adelaide City and Mount Barker. See suburbs we move.
What if I add items after the quote?
Tell us before moving day so the quote can be updated. A fixed-price quote relies on the inventory list from the quote, and items added on the day are charged by the hour.
Do you move interstate?
Moveall Interstate moves households door to door into and out of South Australia by road and rail freight, with a free in-home quote. Ask when you call.
