R3The quote: built on what is actually moving

When you call or send the form, our customer care team asks about the bedrooms and living areas, the access at both homes, and any heavy or bulky items. The quote is built from that list. Moveall’s terms explain why the list matters: a fixed-price quote relies on the inventory from the quote, so items added on the day are charged by the hour. If you remember the shed or the spare room after you have booked, tell us before moving day and the quote can be updated.

Booking can be done online in under two minutes once you know your date. For local moves, Moveall takes a deposit to confirm the booking and the balance a day or two after the move. Moveall accepts the major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, which Moveall describes as interest free with no extra processing fees.

R4Moving day, in the order it happens

1. Arrival and walk-through. The crew walks the house with you, confirms what is going and what is staying, and agrees which rooms load first.
2. Wrapping. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets before it moves, and fragile pieces are packed so they travel upright and still.
3. Loading room by room. The truck is loaded in an order that makes sense at the other end, with heavy furniture low and secure.
4. The drive. For most moves inside Adelaide the truck goes straight to the new house. Keys and access at the new address need to be ready.
5. Unloading to labelled rooms. Each box goes to the room written on it, and furniture is placed where you point.
6. The last check. You walk the old house once it is empty, and the new one once it is unloaded, before the crew leaves.

R5The first night in the new house

The first night is where a house move is judged. Tell the crew which rooms matter most and the beds can be placed first, so they can be made while the rest of the house is unloaded. Pack a first-night box of bedding, towels, toiletries, the kettle, mugs, chargers and medicines, and keep it in the car rather than on the truck. Access decides how long a move takes more than anything else. An inner-suburb villa may have a narrow street and no driveway, a foothills home a steep block, and a new estate home a tight cul-de-sac with parked cars. Tell us how far it is from the front door to where a truck can stop, and whether there are steps, a lift or a long hallway. We match the truck to the street and plan the carry before the day.
